Permitting Development Services Manager

The Hillsboro Economic and Community Development Department is seeking a Permitting Development Services Manager to join the Administrative Division and lead a team of professionals in the performance of land development related services.

In this position you will perform work with multiple teams with a diverse area of expertise. The development activity in the City remains strong and this position will be provided opportunities to work on a broad range of projects in a fast growing City that’s in the heart of the Silicon Forest and often identified as one of the top places to live in the country. There are also opportunities provided to expand individual expertise through internal projects and training.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

• Advanced knowledge of land use and development services that include zoning, development review, right-of-way, site infrastructure and building permits.
• Experience in managing processes, procedures, policies and technical staff into a development services program with a distinct focus on positive, solutions oriented, and effective customer service.
• Responsibilities require leadership and independent judgment on issues that are complex, sensitive, and evaluative in nature.
• Proven experience in promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration by treating coworkers with respect and dignity and maintaining an open mind to diverse voices and ideas.
• Skilled in gathering and reporting Key Performance Indicators to manage workload and advise on important decisions.
• Experience in managing and participating in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for all areas of development services.
