Combination Field Inspector - Washington County Area or Corvallis Area
NWCP is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Combination Building Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing building plans, inspecting construction sites, ensuring compliance with building codes, ordinances, and regulations, and ensuring the safety and structural integrity of buildings and structures. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge, an eye for detail, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a complete understanding of the model codes and state rules, and will be committed to ensuring projects meet minimum safety, codes and standards. The NWCP Team operates as a collaborative team led by the Chief Building Official. Inspectors play a critical role in guiding the success of development by providing professional project inspections and educating the public. NWCP is often seen as the face of local government and may be the only experience our customers have with City staff. Minimum Certifications: Residential (Oregon) Structural, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical Inspector. Residential Plan Review. Must also have the OIC License for Oregon.
Must obtain SRI License within 30 days of hire.
Salary is directly related to the following criteria.
- Number of Oregon Certifications (with extra consideration for commercial plumbing or electrical, SPI, and SEI.)
- Number of years of experience in Oregon.
- Proven soft skills are shown with resume and letter soft recommendation. Soft skills are shown in interview responses.
- Willingness to travel, long routes at times, serving multiple jurisdictions.
- Willingness to live within 40 miles of Estacada or a similar location within Washington County.
- Note: Most candidates will start at the lower side of the pay scale with experienced candidates in the mid to upper scale based upon 10 or more years experience in Oregon and being an ICC CBO or MCP.
