Building Inspector/Plans Examiner II

As a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner II, you will be at the heart of ensuring the safety and quality of our city's structures. You'll review building plans, conduct on-site inspections, and provide expert guidance to developers, contractors, and the public. What you'll do:

• Review and inspect: Ensure compliance with building, grading, and zoning laws by reviewing plans and performing on-site inspections of commercial and residential projects.

• Be a technical expert: Provide guidance and assistance to customers, city staff, and other stakeholders on building codes and technical issues.

• Process permits: Coordinate the permitting process, accept applications, calculate fees, and issue permits.

• Enforce codes and ordinances: Research and evaluate city codes, address complaints, and prepare notices regarding code conformance.

• Collaborate and improve: Work with various teams to resolve issues, suggest process improvements, and contribute to a safe work environment.
